Verbot Permanently Shutdown

Verbot is Lost Forever...

The group at Avaya that manages the former Conversive websites (Conversive.com, Verbots.com, Verbot Forums, etc.) accidently deleted the servers thinking they weren't used anymore. This was a mistake but a mistake that couldn't be undone. There were no backups that could be restored (something about once you delete the cloud image the backups disappear with them). Everything on those websites is gone forever.

Alas this is how Verbots.com ends. Hopefully someone will finally create a Community Run Forum - if there is anyone left in the community interested.

    1. You can find a history of the forum on the Internet Way-back Machine:

    2. Then again, the wayback machine did not archive the conversations - only the indexes...

  2. Crap, we lost another good one. Is there any way to get our hands on the source code? Maybe some of the old timers have an old working copy or something. I think I have all of the installs and zips, I'd be glad to send you what I have. There are only 5 good bots on the web mostly they haven't cough on because they haven't been seen or promoted and they are too hard to use on most web pages. Let me know is I can help. Neil DeJour (FB) Astute-Paradox@hotmail (With or with out the "-" almost everywhere else on the web. Anyone reading this is invited to contact me. Thank you for letting us know. Peace out.

  3. Also, there is a wayback machine (I think it has the .com) on the web, they try to back up the entire web, that may help to recover the links.

  4. The Wayback Machine has what looks like a pretty recent version, although I didn't trace down through all the branches. Has anybody from Avaya/Conversive made any statement about a community support site? There is a bare possibility we could recover the site and downloads from Wayback and the community. I just dislike being sued for setting up a community site. :-) I still use the Verbots on a couple of my machines.

  14. Hi - if there's still someone reading this,

I just called up my locally stored Verbot, talked to it and used its services, and alas! It is so much above any mobile Siri or Assistant experience. So it seems I can use it (and develop it using the famous Verbot 5 editor) until my machine crashes, my backups are gone or until a future Windows version causes compatibility problems ...

I really cannot believe that this software will not be supported anymore. Developing Verbots players (as free windows apps) and editors (as small fee apps) on Microsoft phones and tablets will surely be a money machine _and_ make so many hobby programmers happy, because (as I wrote above) the "intelligent" editing interface is so much better than everything else on the market, presently.

I am left in disbelief: The whole c# source code is gone? And all the online resources too?
    That's so crappy.

  15. Tragically funny that a software developer failed to comprehend the basics of BACKUP BACKUP and BACKUP again!

  16. F.Y.I.: as for being compatable with windows7 64bit : it is very possible! it involves regestering some .ocx files in system32 folder(look online for forums to get msagents on window7) 32bit is easier than 64bit : BUT BOTH ARE POSSIBLE! (some official ms forum sites say that it can't be done- total bs!!! where there is a will...there is a way! don'[t give up!

  17. This person's posted a video about verbot and showing how they use is and developing it https://youtu.be/_lelbRCtMx4 - so not lost forever. Still possible for people to use. That video was posted less than 30 days ago. So verbot is still alive.

  18. Been experimenting with verbot recently, got the basics figured out but still have no idea how to use the C# 'if' commands, can't seem to find any tutorials anywhere either. Would really like some help on that.

  21. I have the source of Verbots 5 and i would like to build new versions. Of course it will be free. Can i do that? Do i need any permissions? I am sure many people still wants to use Verbots. If you give me permissions i will start to create a website and new builds for Verbots.

    Best Regards
